Education PowerED is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that equips educators to build classrooms and schools where identity is affirmed and achievement follows. We develop leaders who know how to translate culturally responsive practice into real results for students who have been historically underserved. Our work is not theoretical. It is designed to change daily instruction, school culture, and student outcomes.
Educational Research
We conduct educational research and produce literature on identity-centered models of schooling.
Instructional Resource Development
We develop instructional resources designed to increase classroom culture and authentic student engagement.
Professional Learning Series
We facilitate professional learning and provide support to schools on the aspects of culturally responsive teaching.
Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT)
Culturally Responsive Teaching is a pedagogy that acknowledges the need to include a student's cultural references, including identity, language, and geographical location, in their learning.
CRT benefits all students as it encourages students to seek a deeper understanding of themselves, others, and the world around them while engaging in contextual learning experiences.
The Culturally Responsive Teaching Domains and Standards™ outlines the mindsets, actions, and behaviors observed in culturally responsive classrooms.
